Onix Recruit Paddle Review (Rating 2.3)

I wouldn’t say all Onix products are perfect. Sometimes, it can happen that some paddles might come out as low-quality. One of them may be the Onix Recruit. The construction of this paddle is not up to the mark. It may crack at the handle. It also doesn’t confirm the durability.

Despite these weaknesses, some beginners still choose this paddle. They just found good pop and slicing capacity out of it.

If you are not a hard hitter and are a complete beginner, you can move for this one whose price is less than 50$. After all, it is a brand of Onix, 100% guarantee and return facility is there. You can also look for Onix Recruit Starter Set (2 paddles & 2 balls), which is better rated than the previous one. For a mid-level priced paddle, you can check out Niupipo paddle too.

  1. I bought the onix recruit v3 last winter and used it 4 times.I was new to pickle ball and did not want to pay much because I did not know if I would play much. I liked the feel of the paddle and how I could return with it. However, the 4th time i used it, it broke at top of the handle. Since onix has 80% of the paddle market I am surprised what a piece of junk they put out. I checked reviews after it broke and they all said they break after a few uses. I did not keep my receipt and threw out the paddle. Before I threw it out I took the tape off the handle and saw how cheaply this paddle is made. I went out and bought another brand paddle

    1. Hey Gary, sorry to hear that. Now, I always recommend not to buy any cheap paddle whether it is from Onix or any other brand. Cheap paddles made out of cheap materials. So, better to avoid it. However, I found Onix Graphite Z5 to be the best one among all Onix paddles.

Happy to know that you found your best brand. Next time before choosing anyone new, you can check out my article where I have enlisted top branded paddle according to my experience so far. Here it is: https://sportstotry.com/most-expensive-pickleball-paddles/
