Paddletek Tempest Wave Pro [Rating: 4.8/5.00]

The Tempest Wave Pro is a lightweight, high-performance paddle designed to give you the most control over your shots. The Wave Pro features an all-new Power Core and Ribs technology for unmatched power and precision. This paddle is designed to give you accuracy, power and forgiveness. It will help you play better because it helps you reach the highest levels.

The paddle offers unbeatable touch and control with a thinner grip profile than previous models. A multi-layer sandwich construction gives this paddle maximum performance.

Players that have an explosive game always choose Tempest Pro. This paddle has a “Smart Response Technology” feature. This helps your hit feel explosive and controlled at the same time. The textured graphite surface gives you an extraordinary level of control and offers the ultimate in performance.

It also features a high tack performance grip which is thin enough to give you an enhanced feel and comfort, but thick enough to provide durability in all playing conditions. The unique Edge Shock Guard protects against edge shock by absorbing energy from the impact of the ball.

My Opinion

Although the price of the paddle is a bit high (near $170), you can choose this paddle for its overall quality and performance. The paddle is lightweight which I like most, best for the net game, has larger sweet spot with control. You may feel great on the grip. Best for crisper shots.

Engage Elite Pro Pickleball Paddle [Rating: 4.8/5.00]

Among Engage paddles, Elite pro is one of the costly paddles out there in the market. But, it’s a much lower price than the paddles that we have already stated above.

Anyways, why Engage is our list is below:

Engage Elite Pro, the result of a collaboration between EngagePickleball and top pro players, who helped design this paddle in the right way. The goal was to create a paddle that offers spin, more power, better reach and forgiveness. It’s now available in both lightweight and standard versions. The LITE Weight version features a unique “fade” skin technology that makes it ideal for those who prefer Graphite paddles but want something lighter.

This Elite Pro Pickleball Paddle is designed for the top players in the world. This paddle is good for ControlPro II polymer core along with Vibration Control Technology to provide an outstanding combination of power, control and stability. The cutting-edge offers maximum forgiveness for powerful shots while still providing excellent ball feedback.

Vibration Control Technology also creates a dampened sweet spot that allows you to hit with more power without sacrificing control. The result is the increased power and maximum control at all times!

Engage Elite Pro Pickleball Paddle is a good paddle for both right-handed and left-handed players. It has an excellent feel, great weight and control. This racket also has a very comfortable grip that makes it easy to handle.

My Opinion

No doubt, I want to give this paddle a rating of 5.00 out of 5.00. It has super pop on blocking, nice touch on soft shots, similar to a tennis racquet, spin-friendly, you can feel the texture and good weight. Overall, I love this one, you would too!!

However, you can compare this to Engage Encore MX 6.0 one, which features FiberTEK skin for more spin and forgiveness. The price is a bit higher than the previous Engage one (Check here)

Selkirk Amped Pickleball Paddle [Rating: 4.7/5.00]

The Selkirk Amped is an enhanced version of the best-selling and top-rated Carbon Fiber paddle. The Amped offers the same great performance as the original, but with a more aggressive edge.

With its unique blade shape and fiberglass construction, this paddle has a strong mid-level flex that provides excellent power and control for both forehand and backhand shots. It also boasts a lightweight design for better maneuverability compared to other paddles on the market today

The AMPED Pickleball paddle is the most advanced paddle on the market. With FiberFlex Fiberglass face, it generates unmatched ball spin, and defuses your opponents’ spin effortlessly and accurately.

The sleek fiberglass surface also helps you generate more topspin than ever before. The AMPED Pickleball paddle uses a thicker Polypropylene X5 Core to provide optimal ball cushioning so you can execute all types of shots with comfort and control.

It features a FiberFlex face that gives you incredible power on the court.

USAPA approved, this pickleball paddle is used by many of the pro pickleball players.

Selkirk paddle is longer with an enhanced sweet spot for increased power and control. The large sweet spot and the widened surface area along with a long handle provide good power on the court.

My Opinion

This paddle is ideal for intermediate to advanced players who want the most out of their game. Amped paddles are constructed using high-quality materials, including fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) blades, which provide increased strength and durability while maintaining a lightweight feel.

Since we are talking about expensive paddles here, you can check out the Selkirk Vanguard in Selkirk paddle lineup as well. The paddle is made up of carbon fiber and an X5 Honeycomb core. (Detail here)

Gamma NeuCore Pickleball Paddles [Rating: 4.6/5.00]

Gamma is a company that makes sports equipment. One of their popular pickleball paddles is the Gamma Newcare and it has a honeycomb core. Their paddles start at around $40, but this one is near to $150. It’s more expensive than the other ones, so I recommend it since it’s worth the money.

Let me explain more:

The Gamma NeuCore Pickleball Paddle is a great choice for intermediate to advanced players looking for an enhanced sweet spot, easy maneuverability and professional power. 7.6-ounce pickleball paddle has an oversized face that allows you to hit the ball with more force without sacrificing control!

The paddles are made with Gamma’s proprietary NeuCore Technology and the 25% thick large-cell core provides a quieter, more supporting feel during the game. The graphite-textured hitting surface offers an enhanced feeling for more control.

Gamma pickleball paddles have a special grip that gives you power and control. They are comfortable to hold.

Each of these paddles is approved for tournaments that you can play to become a pro.

My Opinion

With this paddle, you can move it in a better and quicker way. You may find it good on power serves. The sound is quiet. Honeycomb core helps in soft dinking. A textured surface allows spin. The bad thing could be that the sweet spot might be a little smaller for some players. But, to me, it’s one of the best paddles of all time!

Onix Evoke Premier Pickleball Paddle [Rating: 4.4/5.00]

If you read our Onix Review, you will have ideas about Onix paddles along with the features and other details. Among those, Onix Evoke Pro is one of the costly paddles. I not only listed this paddle here for the high price but also the paddle confirms all the good qualities of a paddle.

If you are a beginner or intermediate player looking for the perfect paddle to get started with, then look no further than Onix’s Evoke Premier Pickleball Paddle. This is the ultimate solution for anyone who wants an easy-to-use paddle.

Though the price is beyond $100, it features a polypropylene core that has been tested and proven in tournaments around the world. The unique aspect of this paddle is its incredible touch that will allow you to hit your shots accurately every time.

The Evoke Premier is the perfect pickleball paddle for players looking to take their game to the next level. With its atomic13 Edge Technology, it’s designed to increase power and swing speed while also dispersing shock.

It has a DF Composite face that ensures consistency in ball contact without sacrificing any spin or pop off of the composite face. And with its precision cut polypropylene core, you’ll be able to feel every touch on your opponent’s shots.

It is the perfect paddle for beginners who want to improve their skills or seasoned players looking for a new challenge. This paddle features a 16″ x 8″ impact shape which will help you reach more balls on your opponent’s side of the court while also maximizing baseline power.

It has been co-developed by two pro pickleball champions so it’s guaranteed to give you the best experience possible!

My Opinion

The paddle is good for beginners. But, if you go for a serious game, you have to think twice to purchase this one. This is because you may face some dead spots that may affect your drop shots. For the same reason, the paddle is not durable compared to other paddles. Other than these issues, It’s a good one for dispersing shock, perfect shape, composite face and excellent touch.

Pro-Lite Titan Black Diamond Pickleball Paddle [Rating: 4.5/5.00]

If you don’t bother about design but are looking for an expensive and best one, Prolite Titan is a paddle that you should look for.

Why?

Pro-Lite’s Titan Black Diamond Pickleball Paddle is the paddle that incorporates carbon fibers into the face of the paddle. It’s a cool paddle in terms of quality design, materials and workmanship. And it’s been a labor of love.

The First in the Black Diamond Series is constructed with the finest materials. But, it is created differently. Technologically, it’s a beauty that is not similar to any other paddle. Moreover, it’s the paddle that incorporates carbon fiber to the face of the paddle.

The carbon fiber face increases stiffness and power while reducing weight. This unique construction also alleviates wrist pain and chronic tennis elbow by dispersing the energy throughout the fibers of the racket.

The Titan Black Diamond has an oversized head for increased ball control, improved blocking ability, and greater ball clearance during serve returns. It’s a great choice for intermediate to advanced level players who are looking for more power without sacrificing control.

My Opinion

Paul Williams uses this paddle. He found the paddle soft and forgiving, great for a volley. It softens the ball up which helps the players to play some drop shots. You can feel super brittle on the surface of the paddle as well.

When Pickleball Paddles Become Costly

Earlier, pickleball paddles were made from wood. Nowadays, they are made from advanced materials like Polymer, Nomex, Honeycomb, Composite and a mix of those.

For instance, Polymer paddle cores are honeycomb core made from an advanced material called polypropylene. It makes any paddle expensive.

Besides, when companies use new technology, the price gets higher on the latest ones. Company goodwill is an issue as well.

Expensive Pickleball Paddle Brands

Selkirk is the most expensive paddle brand for professionals. The next two brands are Engage and Paddletek, with other mentions being Gearbox, Gamma, and Pro-lite.

Final Words

My goal with this article was not only to tell you about the most expensive pickleball paddles that there are. But I really think that these are some of the best quality and top-rated pickleball rackets in the market.

Even if you look, you can find out that most of the famous pickleball players use one of these paddles. So it is a good idea to read this article and by now, hopefully, you have picked up a paddle for yourself.
